Yahweh is one of the many, many names of God. So, I have decided to research some of the names of God. I used bibletopics.com as my resource. YAHWEH -- also spelled YHWH.. YHWH is a tetragram that was changed to YAHWEH in the 16th Century. Means "Lord" or "The Eternal God". ADONAI -- comes from the Hebrew "adon", meaning Lord, Adonia is translated in two ways: "Lord" or "My Lord" EHYEH -- best translation is -- "I AM" EL -- "God".. Not the same as most names of God, this one could apply to "gods (idols)" EL ELYON -- "The most high God" or "God Most High" EL SHADDAI -- "God Almighty" ELOHê YISRA’EL -- "The God of Israel" YAHWEH TSEVA'OT -- "Lord of Hosts" YAHWEH ELOHIM -- "Creator and God of Israel" Pretty breathtaking huh? I love the names of GOD. They hold so much power. They create a connection for us to talk with our Creator. We can call Abba, Father!, Lord GOD!, Jesus! and He WILL hear us. We must call on Him fully believing Him to hear us though, or we will be "like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." -- James 1:6b LET US BRING GLORY TO YOUR NAME GOD, NOW AND FOREVER!
